Our committment
RVA Pediatrics is the first pediatric primary care practice in Richmond to earn the 'Autism Friendly Community' designation through the Autism Society of Central Virginia (ASCV). Our practice is committed to providing an inclusive space for all patients.
Through training, our staff have both obtained the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care to patients with autism. Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space that reduces stress for patients and families while remaining committed to providing quality care.

RVA Pediatrics offers a number of resources and accomodations to foster a more sensory-friendly experience.
A few of the accomodations that we offer include:
- Sensory Toy Box
- Includes fidget spinners, sunglasses, stress balls and more
- Vaccine kits
- Includes a 'Getting my Shot' story board, noise-reducing headphones, Shotblocker, stressball, fidget spinner, sunglasses, and sticker(s).

A visit to our office
To prepare all of our patients for their visit to our offices, we've partnered with ASCV to create visual social stories for each of our locations. These stories are intended to provide a step by step look at what patients and families can expect when they visit our offices. Please note each patient's experience can vary depending upon their individual needs.
